Perempuan dalam kontestasi politik: representasi deskriptif perempuan pada Pileg 2014 dan Pilkada 2015

This study attempts to identify the descriptive representation of women in legislative elections in 2014 and the local elections of 2015. This study is important because 30% quota of women fulfilled in Legislative Election 2014, and women were Involved in the electoral contestations. The study was done by taking documents about the participation of women in the elections of legislative election 2014 and local election 2015 in Surabaya, Sidoarjo district, Banyuwangi, Kediri and Lamongan. The documents is interpreted and analyzed by using descriptive representation theory. The results showed that women’s representation in descriptive remains critical due to: 1) contribute to the women’s quota for women’s representation has forced nominating power to political parties; 2) women have been assertive to seize power with political offices through a contestation and has electability; 3) the acceptability of voters towards women candidates resulted in many women’s representation in the legislature and the head of the region, the which have an impact on the accommodation of the interests of women in the government’s policy agenda.
